This upper bluff section of this site lies just beside the concrete shelter at Commodore Park. Previously another tangle of blackberry and invasive plants, in 2016, it was planted with a variety of native plants that could handle being under the great blue heron nests where large amounts guano are found. The understory section is the very steep slope below and has been restored by Earth Corps. It is fragile slope and a number of trees have fallen, and/or are aging as the lifespan of an alder tree is approximately 50 years.
